Benign obstruction disease of salivary gland ducts due to the inflammation or sialolithiasis is the most common salivary gland
disorder. Its exact incidence is not known. About 3.7 % of population suffer from salivary gland duct strictures or obstructions
(sialolithiasis affects 1.2 % of adult population). The benign obstruction disease diagnostics is based on the patient history, clinical
examination and ultrasound. However, these methods are not usefull for particular evaluation of salivary duct system. The treatment
of reccurent salivary gland inflammation frequently is salivary gland ablation with lost of its function. The miniinvasive endoscopic
method, named sialendoscopy, is more accurate in assessment of location and level of the obstruction. Sialendoscopy can be used
not only for diagnosis but also for treatment of these diseases. Inflammatory stenoses can be dilatated and sialoliths removed. This
progresively developing method brings advantage of the treatment via original salivary duct. It makes therapy more efficient and
shortens reconvalescence period.
