NOTES - why yes, why not ?

Technological research and development introduces new instruments. These instruments result in new innovative procedures in medicine.

Some of these procedures have definitively settled in modern medicine and we cannot imagine current surgery without them. Some

of them diminished after their temporary boom. A new method using natural orifice for surgery has been established in the beginning

of this millennium – Natural Orifice Transluminal Endoscopic Surgery – NOTES. Two strong medical societies – Surgical and Endoscopical,

stand by its beginning. It brings many questions for discussion. The aim of this article comes to think of placement of this new method

in the field of Czech medicine from the surgical point of view.
