Diagnostics and treatment of the early neoplastic lesions attract attention of all endosopists nowadays. New technologies are developed

and everyone strives for optimal technique of scanning large areas of the mucosa and searching for possible neoplastic lesions by means

of highlighting suspected spots. Chromoendoscopy could be very helpful in this field. It is affordable, accessible and feasible. Many

stains have been tried out through the years. However, only some of them proved to be usable in daily practice – Lugol´s solution, indigo

carmine, Congo red, methylene blue and acetic acid. In spite of its similar effect the last-mentioned one is not classified as a dye.

Keywords: chromoendoscopy, chromodiagnostics.
