Laparoscopy represents a traditional surgical approach in gynaecologic surgery. In the past diagnostic procedures were used mainly in evaluation of infertility, pelvic pain or pelvic masses. With the development of surgical instruments and skills more advanced surgical procedures are today performed laparoscopically. Laparoscopic surgery requires perfect technological environment and surgical training. These facts can strongly reduce the incidence of risks and complications with the posibility of so called medico-legals consequences and litigations. Therefore informed consent is another important part in the strategy of minimal invasive approach....

At the present time, laparoscopy has become a widely utilized diagnostic and therapeutic method, which in the hands of an experienced surgeon can be less burdening for the patient than a classical surgical approach and can allow for easier and speedier recovery. Nevertheless, it is important to remember that every method, even if better and more modern, still carries specific risks. Complications of laparoscopy in gynecology occur in approximately 0.14–3.5 % (1). The objective, on which to focus our attention, is to try to minimize all possible risks associated with laparoscopic procedures.

NOTES is an innovative surgical methodology approach that uses natural body orifices, i. e. without abdominal wall incision, to access organ that undergoes surgery. NOTES is applicable to all areas of medicine. Unlike the other medical branches that keep seeking an ideal access path, in gyneacology is an advantage in well known transvaginal access. Out of the other well known approaches it is worth to mention transgastritic, transcolonal, transvesical etc. The main purpose of this new method, until recently considered experimental, is to reduce negative effects of classical surgery. NOTES, sometimes reffered to as „scarless surgery“...

Indirect laryngoscopy is one of the basic diagnostic methods in otorhinolaryngology. Various laryngoscopy endoscopic methods have been introduced since last 20 years. Videokymography is one of the most useful methods of laryngoscopy evaluation, which assesses vibration characteristics of vocal cords by using a high speed camera. Following article discusses its application and benefit among otorhinolaryngology patients.

This article represents overview of endoscopical techniques in the treatment of vestibular schwannoma which ist the most common neoplasm in neurootology. Endoscopy-assisted microsurgery represents modern trend of surgical treatment of this tumors with broader application during the last years only. Angled optics, magnification and illumination enable superior view in the operative field. Endoscopy is valuable for assesment of radicality of resection in the region of internal auditory meatus. Improved information about critical structures and tumor itself helps the surgeon to preserve facial nerve and in selected cases also hearing. These techniques...

The therapeutic principle of achalasia has not been changed in the past decades. It consists in regulating spasms of the lower esophageal sphincter. The most common non-surgical method is pneumatic dilation, whose effect is more long-term than the alternative- botulotoxin sclerotherapy. The most frequent surgical procedure for esophageal achalasia is esophagocardiomyotomy. In the past twenty years, this method has been performed videolaparoscopically, which is basically the only significant, albeit substantial, change to this method, which was introduced almost a century ago. The mini-invasive approach provides comfort not only for the patient...
