How it was ? Digestive endoscopy in the second half of 20th century

Explosive development of imaging methods in the second half of 20th century profoundly influenced the contents of gastroenterology.

Digestive endoscopy gained a leading position during this time period. The achievements of technical disciplines enabled to introduce

new endoscopic approaches (fiberscopy, videoendscopy, capsule endoscopy, endosonography) and consequently a series of new diagnostic

and therapeutic methods. The future of digestive endoscopy is bright. Its development will again depend on suitable applications

of technical discoveries. This is a never-ending task.
